대외경제정책연구원(KIEP, 원장 이재영)은 15개 지역연구학회와 공동으로 세계 지역연구의 저변을 넓히고 신흥국과 경제협력 방안을 발굴하기 위하여 매년 통합학술회의를 진행하고 있습니다.

2019 KIEP 신흥지역 통합학술회의는 ‘미·중 통상마찰 시대의 신흥지역과 한국의 선택’이라는 주제로 오는 10월 18일 서울 코엑스에서 개최됩니다.

관세 부과 경쟁으로 촉발된 미·중 통상마찰은 통화 및 과학기술을 포함한 미중 패권 경쟁으로 확대되고 있습니다. 양국의 보호주의 기조 확산 및 무역 갈등의 지속은 한국뿐만 아니라 세계경제의 불확실성을 증대시키고 있기에, 급변하는 관계의 파고를 지혜롭게 넘기 위한 적극적인 대응전략이 요구되고 있습니다.

대외경제정책연구원에서는 지난 5년 동안 신흥지역연구 통합학술대회를 개최하며 신흥지역과의 협력네트워크 구축 방안을 꾸준히 모색해왔습니다. 올해로 6회를 맞이하는 통합학술대회에서는 기존 연구를 발판 삼아 보다 심도 있는 논의를 진행하고자 합니다.

이번 KIEP 신흥지역 통합학술대회에서는 15개 지역연구학회가 함께 미·중 통상마찰 시대의 지역별 주요 이슈를 조명하고, 전문적인 토론을 통해 대응방안을 모색할 예정입니다. 변화의 시대에 새로운 국제관계 구상을 위한 각계 여러분의 지혜를 모으는 의미있는 시간이 되기를 희망합니다.
